They and You


On many occasions, reference is made to people or objects with the use of the generalized they or you.  These words are vague.
(Vague):                                 They say that college athletes should receive stipends.
(More definite):                  Some newspaper columnists say that college  
athletes should receive stipends.
(Vague):                           You have to avoid road rage.
 (More definite):                 We have to avoid road rage.
